mspeg Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 I haven't been having much luck with hitting Priceline for a downtown Miami hotel on April 7th. Using my free bid options I've bid up to 120 on several occasions over the past two weeks and decided that I should go with a back up plan while I continue the hunt. So following some more advice I've learned here :) I went to EasyClickTravel and took the Courtyard Marriott as my safety. Now it tells me it is not 'guaranteed available but they are working to confirm'. So, do I need a back up to my backup? Is this how EasyClickTravel usually works? Do they get your reservation first and then buy it from the hotel? btw - Hotel site shows no rooms available.I guess any back up is still a back up ........
thereuare Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 EasyClickTravel has two different types of status that you will see next to the price: 'On Request' or 'Avaialble'If listed as Available then the hotel is immediately bookable. If On Request they will try to contact the hotel and see if they can get additional rooms at their pre-contracted price... their stated policy is to let you know within 48 hours but truth is that it can take up to 72 hours. If the hotel is showing sold-out, they're not likely to give any more inventory to EasyClickTravel and you should probably look further for a back-up reservation that is available.
