I'm focused on LES-Chinatown/Soho-Tribeca/Union Square-East Village

4 star and above

I have bid up to $200/night but ideally would like to keep it under $180 (excluding the fees)

My previous experiences have been successful bidding between 1-4 days prior to trip thus I am debating if I should wait closer to date to bid again.

I do have Wyndham Garden Chinatown booked (cancellable) as a back up

Another suggestion if you're looking to wait is to set alerts using RateDrop for any 4 star and higher hotels in the zones that you're interested in... set PRICELINE EXPRESS alerts at $210 or less (since with our Priceline Coupon a $210 express deal would equate to a $200 bid price) so that you'll be notified and able to jump right into bidding as soon as the price drops (if the rate does indeed drop, which of course there are no guarantees it will)
