Barne2100
Hey All! Sorry if I am missing a rule or something. Tried reading everything and got a tad confused but alas here we go. Im trying to book for 5 people, 2 rooms and I heard this whole betting thing could work. I was thinking southwest/northwest for a 4 star maybe 5 at max $120 a night. Let me know what you think is best. The express deals for 4 star look nice. One of them in the NE is $84. Thank you! Link to comment
Barne2100
Based off the list of hotels. That 4 star for cheap in the Ne is the SLS or the linq. Are those good? Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! To get started, a few things you should be aware of pertaining to Vegas (regardless of how you book)... -most Las Vegas hotels will charge more for anything over double occupancy per room as well as many (especially at the higher end) now charge more for rooms with 2 beds vs. 1 bed. -PRICELINE bidding only guarantees double occupancy, after that it's at the discretion of the hotel. However, some PRICELINE EXPRESS properties will show a Bed Choice option so that you can guarantee 2 beds in the room. Although your reservation is still technically only for double occupancy, i don't know of anyone who has yet had an issue showing up with 3/4 guests when the room is designed to accommodate the number of guests in the group (as well, in Vegas it's pretty easy to only have 2 people go to the check-in desk while the other 1-2 people wander someplace else in the hotel and then meet to go up to the room once keys are obtained, if you really wanted to play it safe) -HOTWIRE will let you search for up to quad occupancy and guarantees accommodations for everyone that is included in your search Given the above are you comfortable booking for double occupancy if a Bed Choice option is given and one of those options is a room that has 2 beds? What if there is only one bed in the room but there is also a pullout sofabed... would this be acceptable? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. PS- one last thing to add (in case you'll be speaking to others in your group in regards to their thoughts on the above) i'm seeing: 4* The Strip - Northwest (confirm your dates on the landing page) for $104/nite with: Business Center Restaurant Casino Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities ==> best guess for this one would be the Treasure Island Hotel and Casino but for $115/nite (less 5% using the board's exclusive Priceline Coupon) you can guarantee a room with 2 Queen beds However, my recommendation (if you can stretch your budget just a bit as i think it's well worth it) would be: 5* The Strip - Northeast (confirm your dates on the landing page) for $146/nite with: Business Center Restaurant Airport Shuttle Indoor or Outdoor Pool Casino Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities ==> The Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino would be my best guess here. The rate above is for a standard room with 1King bed, but the rooms here are oversized (so more comfortable for 3 people) and the pullout sofabeds are 'very good' in the sense that they are not some cheap pullout sofa with an ultra thin mattress that makes it feel as if you're sleeping directly on springs; this is a high-end hotel and they did no cut corners on the sofabed. If you prefer, a 2Queen room can be booked for $166/nite. You can deduct 5% from each of these as well when using the board's Priceline Coupon. The $80 hotel you're likely referring to (for help with hotel be sure to include the full details including the amenities associated with the property) is the SLS and that is not the 'main' part of the strip that you ideally want to be located. Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed (or how it goes if you take one of the offers above) and we'll take it from there. Barne2100
This helps a ton. Thank you! My apologies for not posting more details. My buddies and I are constantly going back and forth so I have no idea what we going to do lol. Quick question though, if we did a two queen room, would there still be a pull out/couch regardless of hotel? Example would be the 5 star you were talking about. Oh and yes the pullout bed is ok to us. Link to comment
thereuare
Pullout sofabeds are not necessarily a standard amenity at all hotels, but the one i highlighted below believed to be the Palazzo, has pullout sofabeds standard in all rooms (regardless of whether the room is 1King or 2Queens)... and it's a great hotel; a 'true' 5 star property. 10 hours ago, thereuare said: owever, my recommendation (if you can stretch your budget just a bit as i think it's well worth it) would be: 5* The Strip - Northeast (confirm your dates on the landing page) for $146/nite with: Business Center Restaurant Airport Shuttle Indoor or Outdoor Pool Casino Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities ==> The Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino would be my best guess here. Barne2100
Ahh ok thank you! Last Question and I’ll get out of your hair, before deciding at least. Any hotels that are must avoids? Link to comment
thereuare
Sure, there are plenty of hotels that you'd likely want to avoid, but better to first start with my recommendation above of the guessed Palazzo and if that doesn't work for your needs let us know why and we'll take that into consideration when seeking out the next best option... but the Palazzo is one of my favorite hotels in Vegas and you probably won't find a better hotel value for about $150/nite anywhere in the country. Barne2100
Soooo. Didn’t know this until now but one of them is banned from the Venetian, does that affect the palazzo? Link to comment

You would have to ask him/her the terms of 'banning' if it covered both properties or only the Venetian. If only the Venetian s/he would need to be very careful when walking throughout the property since the Palazzo and Venetian are connected so would need to pay attention as to where one property ended and the other began. If the Palazzo won't work for your needs i think the PRICELINE EXPRESS believed to be Treasure Island (referenced a few posts above) would be your next best bet (although i'd stay at the Palazzo and have my friend who is banned stay across the street at TI) Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Barne2100
Does that treasure island have a pull out? I tried looking and don’t see it. My buddies want one room now. What about the Delano? I believe the express 5* strip Southwest for $142 is the Delano. Two queens is $163. Am I right on this? Link to comment
thereuare
I don't see anything indicating that the Delano or Treasure Island have sofabed standards in all rooms... the Venetian and Palazzo is the only hotel i know of with a high degree of certainty that all standard rooms have a pullout sofabed. Does your group really want to stay as far south as the Delano (with not that much around in the immediate area)?
