grannyp Posted February 5, 2018 Report Posted February 5, 2018 We need last minute lodging for Wed Feb 7 for one night, 2 people, in Las Vegas. I see a 4 star central East Las Vegas Strip for $32 and a 4 star NE Strip for $31. There's also a 5 star NW Strip for $80 and a 5 Star SW Strip for $80. I know we'll have to add resort fees so am leaning toward the 4 star. Amenities listed for all of them are similar. (casino, restaurant, pool) The amenities are not too important for us since it is only a one night stay. We just want a non smoking room with a comfortable bed. We'd stay off strip except that I'd like to look around a bit.
grannyp Posted February 5, 2018 Author Report Posted February 5, 2018 I now see that the 5 star SW Strip is not showing as a casino hotel, so likely Vdara, correct?
thereuare Posted February 5, 2018 Report Posted February 5, 2018 Welcome to BetterBidding! Please include the full details of each property that you would like us to have a look at (star rating, zone, amenities, and room rate per nite) and we will have a look. Although the amenities may not be important to you for this trip, it's critical for us when researching your options. It's not clear if you're just passing thru town and need a room for one nite OR if you need to add a nite to the beginning/end of a longer trip that is already booked, nor is it clear if you've been to Vegas before, but if this is your first trip and this is just a one nite stay i would highly recommend you stay directly on-strip if your budget will allow it, especially if you like to walk around and explore. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. grannyp Posted February 5, 2018 Author Report Posted February 5, 2018 We've been to Las Vegas before but it has been several years. We are passing through en route to Pomona, CA. We'll arrive sometime late afternoon Feb 7 and depart the following morning so it would be nice to have easy access to I-15. I've never seen the Bellagio fountain show (when we were in Las Vegas last time, it was very windy and the shows were cancelled) We might arrive early enough to find last minute tickets to a show of some kind, but we'll at least have dinner and wander around a bit. Yes, I'd probably like to stay directly on strip in a casino hotel, as I may want to play in the casino after hubby goes to bed. So if off strip, I want a casino on site. I'm willing to try some bidding or take a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal or even an advertised price if it is well priced because I know I'll have to add resort fees and possibly a fee to park. It looks like we aren't coming during a particularly high rate time, so am hoping to take this opportunity to stay somewhere nicer than we'd usually stay, (what can I say....DH thinks Super 8 is an upgrade, lol, but he loves a good deal) at a bargain rate. I'm seeing several Express Deal options: 4 star NE strip casino hotel (similar W, Linq, Flamingo) $31 Business Center CasinoCasino Fitness Center Non Smoking Restaurant Swimming Pool 4 star Central East Casino hotel $32 "Situated adjacent to the beautiful Fountains at Bellagio, this high-powered spot is home to iconic casinos and entertainment. Its location along the Strip ensures all-day (and all-night) activities and adventures." similar Bally's, Paris, Cromwell Business Center CasinoCasino Fitness Center Non Smoking Restaurant Swimming Pool 4 star SW strip for $28 similar Monte Carlo, Luxor, NYNY Bed Choice Business Center Casino Fitness Center Non Smoking Restaurant 4 star NW strip $42 (similar Mirage, Treasure Island, Hilton) Bed Choice Business Center CasinoCasino Fitness Center Non Smoking Restaurant 4 star SE strip casino hotel $42 AHA! This one has free parking! (similar MGM Grand , Tropicana) Free Parking Bed Choice Business Center CasinoCasino Fitness Center Non Smoking Swimming Pool Swimming Pool There are also a number of 4.5 star and 5 star Express Deals but they seem to be running $80-100 or so, and once you add on taxes, parking, resort fees, we'd be up around $150 or more. We'd pay that and be glad of it in some places but in Las Vegas I feel like we should be able to find something for less that will work well for us. Thank you very much for your help.
thereuare Posted February 5, 2018 Report Posted February 5, 2018 Here is some of what i'm seeing on the lower end of the budget spectrum along with my best guess for each (confirm your dates on the landing pages after clicking the links provided below): 4* The Strip - Southwest for $28/nite with: Business Center Restaurant Casino Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities ==> Monte Carlo Resort and Casino 4* The Strip - Northeast for $32/nite with: Business Center Restaurant Indoor or Outdoor Pool Casino Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities ==> The Linq Hotel And Casino 4* The Strip - Central East for $33/nite with: Business Center Restaurant Indoor or Outdoor Pool Casino Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities ==> Paris Las Vegas 4* The Strip - Southwest for $37/nite with: Fitness Center Business Center Casino Restaurant No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Indoor or Outdoor Pool ==> New York New York Hotel And Casino 4* The Strip - Central East for $41/nite with: Fitness Center Business Center Casino Restaurant No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Indoor or Outdoor Pool ==> Planet Hollywood Resort And Casino 4* The Strip - Northwest for $43/nite with: Business Center Restaurant Casino Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities ==> Treasure Island Hotel and Casino 4.5* The Strip - Northwest for $48/nite with: Business Center Restaurant Indoor or Outdoor Pool Casino Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities ==> maybe The Mirage but if i'm wrong it could be in the northern end of the Strip around Stratosphere, SLS, Circus Circus, etc) Personally i think Paris offers the best bang for your buck among the offers above. grannyp Posted February 5, 2018 Author Report Posted February 5, 2018 Thank you so much! Paris is the one that in the description says it is near the Bellagio? I will look up what resort fees are and what they include, what parking fees are, etc.
grannyp Posted February 6, 2018 Author Report Posted February 6, 2018 Thank you ever so much for this service. I will recommend it to others. In my case, I did quite a bit of comparing and reading reviews to make a decision. It was difficult to compare since the different hotels have different additional charges for parking, internet access, and resort fees. I was able to get a better rate overall with free parking and free internet and AARP discount at Tropicana by booking direct with the hotel. (That's not often the case!)
thereuare Posted February 6, 2018 Report Posted February 6, 2018 Thank you for closing this thread with your decision. I did see the Tropicana offered as one of the 'opaque' hotels while i was researching, but i didn't list it as it is not nearly as nice as the others mentioned, and with the hotel already being so inexpensive for your nite it's not worth the $10-$15 savings, imo.
