Hotwire Hotel: 4.5* Minneapolis (Downtown Minneapolis) The Westin Minneapolis

The Guaranteed PRICELINE EXPRESS hotel price of $73 was NOT accepted by the hotel.  Then a new Guaranteed Express price appeared for $76.  This also was DENIED by the hotel.  The taxes would have brought the total to $98.

I used HOTWIRE and the guaranteed price for a 4 star was accepted right away $76 .

In regards to the PRICELINE EXPRESS rate not being available, no displayed price is guaranteed (thru any booking service) until you receive a confirmation of the purchase.  For example, what if there was only one room available for your dates available at the given rate but just before you clicked the BUY NOW button somebody else purchased that same room for the same dates?  What if a user does a search and keeps the browser open for 2-3 days, in that timeframe the price changes, and therefore is no longer available 3+ days later when the user tries to purchase.  This can happen with both PRICELINE EXPRESS, HOTWIRE, as well as any other service, but one nice thing is that often with PRICELINE EXPRESS and HOTWIRE sometimes when you click thru to make the purchase you're given a message that the price has actually gone down and the hotel can now be offered at an even lower rate.

 

While we certainly welcome your experience with not being able to purchase the PRICELINE EXPRESS, please also include the details of what you did purchase, as this information will be more useful to others who are looking to travel to this area in the future.
