Perhaps the original 'Financial District' hotel was actually in the Fisherman's Wharf zone as i'm seeing the following which looks very similar to the description you included for the Financial Distirct property (as always, confirm your dates on the landing page of the provided links):

Thanks for the advice.  Hotwire is now showing $161 for a 4* in Financial-Embarcadero area.  Still think this is Le Meridian?

Went ahead and bid on PRICELINE for 4.5*.  

 

Started at 100, went up by $5/bid and won the Le Meridien for $150/night.  Pleased with this win.
