DallasMom
Hello! I'm taking my niece and sister in law for a long weekend in Nov. I chose the dates based on work schedule and flight cost before realizing it's marathon weekend. I'm paying for most of the trip so am budget conscious. I would ideally like to stay under the $250-$275 range including taxes and fees; it seems like having 3 people in a room increased the price by about $100 a night. I've only been once before and stayed in midtown East (don't prefer). I think I'm open to stay places other than midtown so long as easy access to subway and/or night life. Please help. I've never used Hotwire nor Priceline express. Link to comment

This is often the case in NYC given that space is at a premium and most hotels have a higher percentage of rooms with only one bed, so many hotels charge more for rooms with two beds and/or more than double occupancy. Would you be willing to book a room for double occupancy if you knew in advance that it had sleeping accommodations for all three of you? Would one bed and a pullout sofabed work for your needs or do you need two 'actual' beds? How old is your niece? 15 hours ago, DallasMom said: midtown East (don't prefer). I think I'm open to stay places other than midtown To clarify... are you trying to avoid Midtown East or is it just as acceptable as any other location? Are you ideally looking to target 'midtown' or is this an area that you are hoping to avoid? Let us know the information above and we'll take it from there.
