I am also wondering if anyone can comment on the security situation in that area.  I have a late night arrival connecting to another flight departing the next morning.  Is the airport area safe, for example, how likely is it that I would be mugged or robbed?

Oh, I am very sorry.  I was thinking something was missing but could not tell what was missing.  The reservation dates would be 18 June to 19 June 2017.

Thank you very much for your much and pointing out that the regular rate are not too steep in Istanbul.  I am indeed surprised by the listed rate.  In any case, a travel agent back in Hong Kong got me the Wyndham Grand Istanbul Europe for USD 42.5 with breakfast included.  I guess nothing can beat that price and I booked with them.
