Hotwire Hotel: Ft Lauderdale - 17th St Amersuites - DTD Question

I have noticed several users have received Hotwire Double the Difference refunds for purchases made at the 17th St Amersuites in Ft Lauderdale. I would like to get this discount but am unsure of the details. I will be staying March 18-21, for which Valuetrips has a listed price of $416 ($109*2 + $99*2). Hotwire has a 2.5* property which I am reasonably sure is the Amersuites for $175/night = $700. So my impression is that the difference would be $700 - 416 = $284 and my refund would be double this amound ($568). Is this correct? Also, as far as getting the exact sequence of actions I should take:

1) Reserve a room through Valuetrips - recieve my confirmation email back as proof of rate (Question: Is this reservation fully refundable? Any fees or other terms of cancellation?)

2) Reserve a room through Hotwire within 48 hours & submit proof of lower rate from Valuetrips

3) Cancel reservation through Valuetrips - collect my $568

Is this the best was to ensure I got my DTD refund?
