HiLoCountryNM Posted June 3, 2017 Report Posted June 3, 2017 Hope the above plus amenities below are sufficient to identify. If not, let me know. The Hotwire-given "Trip total" including tax is $173.04. Thanks! AaronJB Posted June 3, 2017 Report Posted June 3, 2017 I'm seeing: 2.5* Midtown Albuquerque for $47.00 Complimentary Breakfast Free Parking Free Internet Pet Friendly Shuttle Smoke Free Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Laundry Hi-Speed Internet ==> A guess would be the Clubhouse Inn. The listing does show a 4/5 tripadvisor rating, so the underlying hotel does get good reviews. Would this option be of any interest? Thank you for keeping us updated with what you decide and let us know if we can be of any further assistance. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
HiLoCountryNM Posted June 4, 2017 Author Report Posted June 4, 2017 Thanks for the information. Although it's a decent hotel (I've stayed there before and I do think you're right that it's the Clubhouse Inn) it's not the right location for my purposes this time. So, unfortunately I won't be making this Hotwire reservation. Thanks again.
AaronJB Posted June 5, 2017 Report Posted June 5, 2017 Are there any other HOTWIRE (or PRICELINE EXPRESS) listings of interest? Where do you need to be close to? Does anything of interest appear when putting the exact address of where you need to be into the search box at MAPS and HOTELS.com? HiLoCountryNM Posted June 5, 2017 Author Report Posted June 5, 2017 No; nothing of interest this time, unfortunately. I want to be in a place conducive to walking. That effectively limits me to Hotwire's "downtown" area. Since some parts of midtown may work I thought to look into the hotel that's the subject of this thread. Thanks again.

Not sure how familiar you are with the area, but our MAPS and HOTELS.com site also has WalkScore built right in... click a hotel on the map and there will be a link to see nearby restaurants, coffee shops, bars, parks, libraries, etc. so this may even help you choose an area or specific hotel that is conducive to to walking. HiLoCountryNM Posted June 5, 2017 Author Report Posted June 5, 2017 Thanks. I'm very familiar with the town; know it like the back of my hand. Walking, there, is something only a masochist would do. There are sidewalks as an afterthought only; it's entirely geared toward car culture. Not a bad hotel at all; and for that part of town my description of the environs, walking-wise, is typical. I'll keep your MAPS and HOTELS.com site in mind for when I'm going to less familiar areas. This one got a 38. I've picked up a hotel through normal, non-HOTWIRE / non-PRICELINE, channels in Old Town. It'll do. Thanks again for your time.
thereuare Posted June 5, 2017 Report Posted June 5, 2017 Thank you for concluding this thread with your decision. Have a great stay. PS- i'm a 'walker' too... love to just explore cities by foot and take in the environment and talk with people i meet along the way.
