rices Posted May 9, 2017 Report Posted May 9, 2017 Hi friends! I have been referencing this site and using Hotwire for the past couple of weeks to track hotel prices for 3 people, June 8-11 in Manhattan. I have found a 4.5 star property in Midtown East for 3 people for $187 on Better Bidding. Amenities are as follows (per Better Bidding): Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Spa services, Children's activities, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower I suspect this is InterContinental Barclay but would appreciate your input. The price is right (particularly as we are paying in CAD) but want to make sure we are choosing a good place for 3 ladies on a birthday trip! Thanks all!
thereuare Posted May 9, 2017 Report Posted May 9, 2017 Welcome to BetterBidding... glad to hear you've been finding the site useful so far. For this HOTWIRE offer: 4.5* HOTWIRE Midtown East for $187.00 Pet Friendly Smoke Free Fitness Restaurant Business Laundry Hi-Speed Internet Spa Childrens Activities Blind Accessible Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Bathroom Accessible Handicapped Parking Roll-in Shower ==> i would agree that the best guess for this one would be the InterContinental New York Barclay which would be a very nice choice as the hotel has been getting excellent reviews ever since their renovations (about 9 months ago or so) Assuming you do go for this property, i will add that you're also near my often recommended Ess-A-Bagel (Third Ave at 51st St) which has one of the best bagels in the city, makes for a nice, and relatively inexpensive, breakfast among local NYers. rices Posted May 11, 2017 Author Report Posted May 11, 2017 Decided not to pursue this hotel, I am tracking prices for the same dates but in the Soho area as this is our preferred location. I currently have a non-Hotwire deal booked (can be cancelled up to the day before with full refund) at Solita Soho for $217/night (for two double beds, 3 nights). Will report if I find anything better through this site in that area. Thank you!
thereuare Posted May 11, 2017 Report Posted May 11, 2017 It's your trip and you know your needs best, or maybe you just don't want to commit just yet, but i would re-think your choice... Solita Soho vs. Intercontinental New York Barclay -3* vs. 4.5* -bottom 25% of hotels in NYC vs. top 25% hotels in NYC -4.0 TA review vs. 4.5 TA review ... and the higher rated hotel is cheaper I think you're choosing an 'average' hotel vs. having this be a more luxurious experience, but as i noted above, you know your plans for this trip better than we do but perhaps there is some other underlying reason to choose the 3 star for the same price. Let us know whatever you ultimately decide for this trip or if we can be of further help. rices Posted May 11, 2017 Author Report Posted May 11, 2017 I see what you're saying trust me! But I am not the only one making the decision and the other girls want to stay in Soho or Chelsea :) Will keep an eye on deals and put some pressure on the others.

rices Posted May 17, 2017 Author Report Posted May 17, 2017 Hi all, This hotel doesn't seem to match anything on the list for Madison Square Garden. The room is for 3 people, the bed choice is 2 full beds. Amenities are as follows: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Boutique hotel, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access 4*, 4.5 rating on TripAdvisor. Price is $207/night. Looking at TripAdvisor, I think it is EVEN Hotel Times Square but would appreciate your help.
thereuare Posted May 17, 2017 Report Posted May 17, 2017 Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. Once you win a hotel, use the 'ADD REPLY and REPORT WIN' button on the upper right corner of the page to edit the topic title to reflect your win and to provide the details of your purchase. This helps keep the board better organized by reducing the number of unresolved threads that don't have any follow-up or conclusion. For this HOTWIRE offer: 4* HOTWIRE Madison Square Garden for $207.00 Free Internet Pet Friendly Boutique Fitness Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet ==> EVEN Hotel Times Square South would be the best guess Is this close enough to Soho for your group?
