bledig Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 We just purchased 8 nights at the Aruba resort/4* listed in Hotwire for $103 and it turned out to be the Wyndham. The best rate we've seen for them is $139 for their 'Web Rate' (where pre-purchase required).Hope that helps someone!
thereuare Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 Please post the amenity icons shown before purchase... this way it will be sure to help someone! :) You can still view these by clicking the MY ACCOUNT on the top right section of Hotwire's homepage.THANKS! enjoy your trip. bledig Posted October 1, 2003 Author Report Posted October 1, 2003 Amenties were beachfront, casino, restaurants, pools, gym, business center, golf, tennis nearby. Note that these were not the EXACT same symbols that were shown on the Hotwire packages page (the package had an extra 'beach access' symbol at the start, and no tennis symbol), so this isn't always a reliable way to guess which hotel is offered in the non-package section.
thereuare Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 Thanks for adding the amenities...Actually, the Packages Product uses a Beach Access (in addition to a Beachfront) icon and the 2 are almost always present together... while the Hotel Product doesn't ever use a Beach Access icon.As far as the Tennis icon goes, the summary page can only show 8 icons at a time. In the Packaged Product, if you clicked DETAILED INFORMATION you'd see the full list of amenities, which indeed shows the Tennis icon.So in this instance, the amenities were the same as the Vacation product. I have seen about 3 instances where they are indeed different, but on the whole, it's an excellent tool to use. Thanks again for following up.
