blindman
Had been bidding for TWO nights 19th -to 20th November inclusive in MTW for about 6 x 72 hrs. since about August.Basically started at about $70 dollars and increased bids as follows:UM,MTS,UES,UWSDid NOT include MTE as I didn't want the Grand Hyatt at this early stage.Successful Bids of $75 are not unusual for this time of yearSet my limit to $90 as it's way ahead of time.Didn't get any luck,so for my last bid I chose only the one night viz the 20th.Succeded at $90.I immediately bid again for the 19th but got no luck.Subsequent 72 hr bids later and I still no result.Found out through some research there's a BIG convention in town from 18th to 20th and about 45 hotels are on the conference list.Looks like they will release inventory about 17th October so hope to get lucky then.Mind you I may look at Jersey city for a LOT cheaper option. (I WON'T be driving.... :) ) Link to comment

cmf
BlindmanYes, I see you mentioned NOV. in your first sentence. The dates just popped out at me, since I've been trying so long to get a win for the 18th.During the summer, bids in MTW for 4* were being accepted at around $95 - $125. I didn't realize the fall would be more expensive in NYC.I checked out the Javit Center link you sent. There are textile shows that week. Possibly people are staying through the weekend - my dates.Appreciate your input. I will raise bids next go-round to the $140's. That's still a good deal for 4 and 5*'s. :) Link to comment
