Booking May 20-27, 2017 on Priceline and get the following Express Deal - 4.5-Star Express Deal Hotel - Grand Central Terminal - UN for $181

Amenities are Business Center, Restaurant,  Free Internet, Fitness Center, No Smoking Rooms/Facilities

 

I'm thinking this is the UN One, which is probably a good hotel for this price, but really have my sights set on the Even Hotel Midtown East.

 

Does anyone have some insight into this one or tips on how to score the Even Hotel Midtown East for cheap?

Thanks for confirming my guess!  My max would be $200 USD, unfortunately, the CAD-USD exchange rate is not good for me right now.

Not tied to that area, but would like to be close to Midtown without being in the thick of Times Square.

If you're looking to do this as economically as possible, i see the following HOTWIRE offers:

==> which matches previous reports for the Holiday Inn NYC - Lower East Side.  It's not that centrally located, but it's located right near the subway station which will have you in midtown in about 10 minutes (and the Lower East Side is an 'up and coming area' with a lot of new bars, restaurants, boutiques, etc), but i mention it because the reviews are good and it's well priced.
