Midtowner Posted March 27, 2017 Report Posted March 27, 2017 Please help me ID the following hotel, hoping to find somewhere with less than a 15 minute walk to the Ferry terminal at 34th street and FDR 4.5 Star Midtown East Dates: June 1-5 4 adults Price $264 CAD Ammenities: Business centerChildren's activitiesFitness centerInternet accessPet friendlyRestaurant(s)Self-service laundrySpa services Thank you!! Really hoping to find a hotel that has 2 queens, though I know that's unlikely.
thereuare Posted March 27, 2017 Report Posted March 27, 2017 Please post your room rates in USD as it makes it easier for us to locate the same hotel among the offers when we replicate your search. Also, I believe there are more amenities then what you have posted above as HOTWIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you search using the EASY VIEW TAB of our BiddingHelper.com tool. (always use this method for your searches/purchases to ensure you're seeing the complete amenity set and for an easy comparison of PRICELINE vs. HOTWIRE, as well as to use our new IS THIS A GOOD PRICE feature). If you repeat your search using our BiddingHelper.com tool... use the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab and then click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing, do you see more amenities (including any accessible amenities) then what you have listed above? Using this method, below is the full list of amenities i'm seeing for the 4.5 star hotel in this zone when searching for your dates: 4.5* Midtown East for $191.00 Pet Friendly Fitness Restaurant Business Laundry Hi-Speed Internet Spa Childrens Activities Blind Accessible Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Bathroom Accessible Handicapped Parking Roll-in Shower ==> if this is what you're seeing, the InterContinental New York Barclay would be my best guess for this one Does this work for your needs this trip? if not, assuming you're trying to stay near the east side ferry terminal because that is your arrival/departure point (as opposed to needing to take the ferry a few times during your stay), do you really need to stay in a 15 minute walk-able radius of this point? Wouldn't it be better to choose a hotel that is most convenient to the sites/attractions you would like to visit during your trip rather than where you will be arriving and departing from? (especially when there are four guests, and a taxi to/from this location wouldn't be more than $10-$15 (less than $4/pp) to most midtown locations) Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know your thoughts (or how it goes if you take the offer above) and we'll take it from there. Midtowner Posted March 27, 2017 Author Report Posted March 27, 2017 Ok thanks! That was easy - so its $191 USD and matches your list above so is probably Intercontinental Barclays. Seems strange though as that is outside the Midtown East map? We don't 'have' to stay that close to the terminal - but we are coming for a music festival on Randall's Island and take the ferry to/from every day. Since we aren't in town for any other sites - it would make our commute easier. Last year we stayed in the Upper East side and it added lots of Taxi time to every day. List of ammenities from the Hotwire Easy View: Pet friendly, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Spa services, Children's activities, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower
Midtowner Posted March 27, 2017 Author Report Posted March 27, 2017 There is also another 4.5* listed at 201 USD with same dates/4 adults as above. Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access

Looks to be within the zone at the map i'm looking at... in the 'grid' between 48th St and 49th St and Lexington Ave and Park Ave, which is within the boundaries of the current MTE zone. 10 hours ago, Midtowner said: we are coming for a music festival on Randall's Island and take the ferry to/from every day. I understand, and why i prefaced above "as opposed to needing to take the ferry a few times during your stay"... as often we hear users say they want to stay near (insert location here) as that is their pick-up/drop-off point, yet they'll be in town for a week and that may not be the best location for the typical tourist, so i wanted to make sure that was not the case for your location request above. Would the Iberostar 70 Park Avenue Hotel be of any interest... $209/nite for 2 Doubles or $240/nite for 2 Queens? (although the newly renovated InterContinental Barclay is probably a nicer overall hotel for less... which comes back to is it worth staying at the nicer hotel for less and spending some of the savings on a taxi) Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Midtowner Posted March 27, 2017 Author Report Posted March 27, 2017 Ok thanks. I think I confused the locations as you're right - its in the area. My biggest concern is ending up with rollaway beds and a cramped room - hoping we would get two doubles.

So if the following of interest: 10 hours ago, thereuare said: Would the Iberostar 70 Park Avenue Hotel be of any interest... $209/nite for 2 Doubles or $240/nite for 2 Queens? Relative to the MTE property it's only $5/pp more per nite to ensure 2 doubles... or just $12.50/pp more per nite for 2 queens. OR THIS JUST APPEARED (confirm your dates on the landing page of the provided link): 3.5* Empire State Building Area for $124 Pets Allowed Business Center Free Internet Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities ==> best guess would be St. Giles - The Court. The price above is for ONE KING BED (unfortunately no option for a room with 2 beds) but perhaps you would want 2 rooms at this price; 2 people per a king bed is plenty comfortable, and two bathrooms/showers makes it much easier/quicker when getting ready to go out Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin you Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed (or how it goes if you take any of the offers linked above) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
