Hotwire Hotel: 5* Las Vegas (Center Strip - Fountains) Aria Resort and Casino

Hi folks,

Any idea what sort of prices I'll be looking at to land a hotel for one night on the 20th of October on or safe walking distance to the strip? Ideally 4* but 3+ is acceptable. I've stayed at the Flamingo before (which I believe is 3.5 on hotwire and that was perfectly acceptable!). There's so much choice and I figure in theory they should be easyish to ID because of resort fees? I know last time I visited, we booked via travelzoo and got a great deal for less than $20 a night before resort fee, but it was in winter so I don't know if that was why.

I've looked for earlier in the year and the prices are quite drastically different- more than a $100 different....am I just too early?

I'm only currently seeing 1 hotel that is above 3* and under $100 before resort fee. That's a north of the strip 7/10 with the following amenities:

Complimentary
Free InternetFree parking
Amenities
Business centerCasinoPool(s)Restaurant(s)Spa services

That surely can't be my only option? For later in March there are loads of hotels between $20 and $50- should I wait until October to book to get these rates?

. Thanks for any assistance!

Please start by following-up your previous Priceline Berlin hotel thread with whatever you ended up doing for that trip, then reply here and we will have a look at and comment on your post above.

Please remember to follow-up your threads with your wins/decisions as you make them (even if you don't ultimately use PRICELINE / HOTWIRE, cancel the trip, book direct, etc) as this help keep the board better organized and more useful for everyone... as well as being a courtesy to anyone who took the time to help with your travel plans.

For the offer above I believe there are likely more amenities then what you have posted above as HOTWIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you search using the EASY VIEW TAB of our BiddingHelper.com tool. (always use this method for your searches/purchases to ensure you're seeing the complete amenity set and for an easy comparison of PRICELINE vs. HOTWIRE, as well as to use our new IS THIS A GOOD PRICE feature).

If you repeat your search using our BiddingHelper.com tool... use the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab and then click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing, do you see more amenities (including any accessible amenities) then what you have listed above?

Is there any specific property that you're hoping for?

Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.

I don't believe that we took the trip in the end as the flight sold out, I'll add that to the thread.

I'm not hoping for any particular property in Vegas. As it is for one night only, we would like something on the strip with free parking. Ideally, more central than Excallibur or Stratosphere as our time is so limited. Paris, Flamingo, Ballys, Luxor etc all fine.

I'm seeing on PRICELINE EXPRESS (please confirm the correct dates of travel are showing on the detail page after clicking the links below.)

3.5* The Strip - Northwest for $96
Free Parking
Business Center
Restaurant
Free Internet
Indoor or Outdoor Pool
Casino
Fitness Center
No Smoking Rooms/Facilities
>>>Guess would be Stratosphere.

3.5* The Strip - Southwest for $112
Business Center
Free Internet
Indoor or Outdoor Pool
Casino
Fitness Center
No Smoking Rooms/Facilities
>>>Guess would be Luxor

4* The Strip - Northwest for $65
Free Parking
Restaurant
Free Internet
Indoor or Outdoor Pool
Casino
No Smoking Rooms/Facilities
>>>Lucky Dragon would be my guess.

Would any of these options be of interest?

Please keep us updated with what you decide and let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

the strip with free parking

Note that all MGM and Caesar owned properties (which equates to about 90% of the strip) now charge for parking.

Ah, that really helpful advice thereuare....I certainly won't pay a resort fee and for parking, that seems like daylight robbery!!

Luxor may fit, but with the resort fees and taxes seems overpriced. I think $100 with taxes and resort fee is as high as I would be willing to go and would prefer to be much lower given prices I'm seeing for closer dates and what I paid on my last trip. Lucky Dragon seems a reasonable choice, but my understanding is that it isn't on strip (although I may be wrong)?

If we can't get anything cheap enough for now, I'll wait until last minute and see whats available on priceline/hotwire/travelzoo and if there's still no joy we'll just skip it I suppose and stay elsewhere on our route.

You can continue to check between now and your trip but you're looking for a 3.5* hotel on the strip in Las Vegas for a Friday nite, which is usually going to cost you $100+ with taxes/fees... then you're further restricting your options only to hotels that have Free Parking and/or No Resort fee; i don't think your expectations are realistic.

You can certainly get something off-strip, but you'll then need to find a place to park if you're driving to the strip... if you want the experience, convenience, and location of the strip you'll unfortunately need to be flexible in regards to resort and parking fees, or as you note, choose a different location.

Our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com may help you find an alternate option en-route since it will show you hotels for nearly any address or location in the world, so by using the filters and price slider on the left side of the page you can easily filter the map to determine the best value in a given area for your travel dates... or you can use RefundableRates.com in order to find the best deal with flexible cancellation policy that will at least lock in a price today (protecting you from any price increases) and let you cancel if/when you find something better over the next few months.

Just to close this thread, we ended up going with a HOTWIRE deal that turned out to be the Aria, which was $140. We did at one point see it for much less, but didn't jump on it quick enough. We decided at that point in our holiday it was worth a bit more money to be centrally located and somewhere that we knew would be really nice, definitely a treat! Hotwire did the "the last person got...." thing on the buy page, so it wasn't much of a gamble in the end.

Note that the "Last person got ___" information shown by HOTWIRE is in reference to the last person who bought a hotel of this star rating in the zone, it does not necessarily in relation to the underlying hotel currently being offer, so you should never use this information to try to determine what it is that you may likely receive.

Can you please add a reply to this thread with the amenities HOTWIRE shows for this property, including any 'accessible' amenities, when viewing this purchase using the MY ACCOUNT >> MY TRIPS link on the top right of their home page.
