IceTrojan
With the Memorial Day Holiday AND the Indy 500, is it safe to assume that PL and HW will be useless? Has anyone succeeded in winning bids on this weekend, this year or past years? Am I hosed? :) Link to comment
IceTrojan
Indianapolis (North - Fishers)3*Wyndham Hotel IndianapolisFor 1 night, 5/29/2006$90---------------------------------Well, I guess I was very bad and might have bid too high! But let me explain.I won on my first bid of $90. (D'oh!)BUT here's why I bid so high:--Wyndham.com showing $139+ or $118+ prepaid.--It's Memorial Day/Indy 500 weekend!--I unsuccessfully bid up to $130 for a 3* by the airport.--NOTHING available on HW (except for a 2* in Plainfield with bad reviews).--Figured $90 was actually a safe (low) starting point, and I was getting frustrated anyway. So in the end, while I probably could've knocked down the price a little, I'm still happy getting a good rate on that weekend. And in the end, isn't that all that matters? :) Link to comment
thereuare
I've merged your threads since i think you're refering to the same stay. The above Wyndham rates are not high, so regardless of the events taking place in the area, they're apparently not currently affecting hotel rates. You should ask for help and a bidding strategy before bidding for your next stay. IceTrojan
Well, I need another 1 night stay for the same weekend, but on Friday May 26. I suppose I'll use those free rebids (Northwest, Speedway, and South don't have 3*), and PL has the Marriott (North) for $109 that night. What should be my starting bid? Link to comment
