erin_s Posted February 13, 2017 Report Posted February 13, 2017 I'm looking to book a rental car at lax in March. I want the cheapest possible car but also want a reputable company. I found an economy advertised for $21/day when I used the better bidding link to HOTWIRE. It also says counter in airport, shuttle to car. So I guess my question is...will I be guaranteed this price even if an economy car isn't available? And do you know the company by chance? Would I be better off naming my own price on Priceline?
thereuare Posted February 13, 2017 Report Posted February 13, 2017 Currently HOTWIRE is offering an Economy car for $19/nite. If the rental company is out of the type of your car you have reserved you will be given the next higher level car that is available. You could try bidding on PRICELINE in an attempt to beat this price, but keep an eye on the all-in price of both so that you don't bid any higher than you could currently reserve the car thru HOTWIRE. HOTWIRE works with the following companies on the 'opaque' side of their service: Quote If you book a Hot Rate® Car, you are guaranteed a car rental from one of these leading agencies: Alamo, Dollar, Enterprise, Europcar (International only), Hertz, National, Sixt, Thrifty, or Advantage. From the top of the PRICELINE bidding rental page they indicate cars are provided by the following brands: Alamo, Avis, Budget, Hertz, National, Sixt Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know how you'd like to proceed, or how it goes if you take the current HOTWIRE offer, or how we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
erin_s Posted February 18, 2017 Author Report Posted February 18, 2017 Thanks for the feedback. After several unsuccessful bidding attempts on Priceline, I decided to book directly with a rental company. Renting a car a few miles from lax & returning it to the airport for a huge overall savings. Thanks again for the help!
thereuare Posted February 18, 2017 Report Posted February 18, 2017 Glad to see you found something that will work for your needs. Have a great trip! Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
