Priceline Hotel: 3* Newark (Jersey City) Hyatt Regency on Hudson

Hi Folks

I'm new to this lark, so bear with me...

I'm trying to get together a strategy for bidding for a hotel near New York - ideally the Hyatt on the Hudson, which seems to be well regarded on here!

Check in 24 Feb, Check out 28 Feb

Hotwire is showing a 4* hotel in 'Hoboken - Jersey City', which appears to be the Hyatt (correct me if I'm wrong) for $191/ night. That seems a bit steep going by rates I've seen looking through the forums.

What sort of bid is likely to succeed? I'm hoping for $55-60, but could go as high as $75 I suppose. I don't really want to end up in the Doubletrees though.

Also, I'm having a bit of trouble getting my head around the areas.

On second thoughts. Don't worry!

I got itchy fingers and submitted a bid for Jersey City 3* for $65. Was refused, but then lopped off the final day and resubmitted.

Hey presto - I got the Hyatt.

Beginner's luck, I suppose :)
