pnotar Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 This is my first post and I am new to both this board and Priceline. So here goes...I am currently booked for these dates at Seralago Hotel and Suites. However, the more I find out about it, the less I want to stay there. So, as I investigated options, I came across this board.Question 1: Is it possible to book a suite via Priceline (or Hotwire for that matter)? That is what I am currently in (3 adults and 2 children, so looking for some separation)Question 2: If so, how do I specify this? If not...Question 3: Are you able to book 2 rooms adjoining via Priceline/Hotwire?If I can get a good price, that may still be a better option (currently paying $109/night for Seralago)As I get responses, I can post follow ups if necessary. Thanks in advance!!
thereuare Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 Welcome to BetterBidding! You can not request a Suite on Priceline. Hotwire will show you an "S" icon if the hotel is a suite propert so you can do a search and see if any such hotels are offered for your dates, but 'officially' Hotwire will only allow you search up to quad occupancy (Priceline only guarantees double occupancy). If you use either service and book two rooms you can call the hotel afterwards and request adjoining rooms, but it is just that, a request, and whether or not the hotel will accomodate you will depend upon a variety of factors, the greatest being occupancy rates during your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
LoneStar Posted February 19, 2006 Report Posted February 19, 2006 I have noticed "2 bedroom condo" listings on hotwire, so you could probably book with some confidence that you'd get such space. Of course, the condo properties tend not to be dirt cheap on hotwire, so whether you'd do much better than what you have is debatable.Booking two rooms on priceline MIGHT be cheaper (or at least nicer for the same money) than what you have, but if you MUST have connecting rooms, it's a gamble. My luck is probably 2 out of 3. You have to HOUND the hotel. First, they have to have such rooms (most, but not all, do). They you have to get it noted in your record. They probably won't make any guarantees. The afternoon before your arrival (when hopefully they are thinking of assigning rooms), call again. Stress the importance of having connecting rooms. Then, the morning of your arrival, call again! Try to get them to check that they are CONNECTING rooms (if that's what you want), and not merely adjoining (next to each other but no "private door" between rooms). And good luck! From my experience, it's a special request VERY likely to get screwed up.
