levtas Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 Hi, I'm a newbie to this site (but not to priceline or lastminutetravel.com). What a great site! After reading how we can help the site by clicking thru the savingsbarn.com I have not only bookmarked but also used the priceline thru the savingsbarn.com. Unfortunately my first experience was not good with priceline...Dont know how Melba (in Hyatt topic) A got a room so cheap but I got rejected when I tried to book a 2 room with $125 for a 4* hotel. How could th at be? Is it the date (3/25) or something else? What am I doing wrong? Would have love to get Hyatt or Intercontinental for that price....
thereuare Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 The Hyatt is currently sold-out for your date, which greatly reduces your chances of receiving that property. The Inter-Continental is over $300/nite, and that is not a rate when we have typically seen bids accepted at the amounts you have bid.If you're flying into Miami, how late does your flight arrive? (would it pay to stay near the airport) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
levtas Posted February 15, 2006 Author Report Posted February 15, 2006 We are traveling by car...Airport is too noisy for us and had a bad experience couple years ago while we stayed at the Hilton. Intercontinental is not on your priceline Miami map and the two other hotels on the map Radisson & Marriot was also sold out. Loved to stay at Intercontinental but wouldn't want to pay much more than $200. Is it possible to get this hotel at this price while cheapest room advertised @ $339? thx :)
thereuare Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 When are you eligible to bid again? (ie- when was your previously rejected bid for Miami) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
levtas Posted February 15, 2006 Author Report Posted February 15, 2006 Last night so I'm out until Friday night.. :) But wait! I have a friend that traveling with me is bidding thru savingsbarn as I write this. :) I'll let you know the outcome...thx
levtas Posted February 15, 2006 Author Report Posted February 15, 2006 No Luck @ $200 :) :) :o What's going on here??? Is whole entire downtown Miami sold out?? :)
levtas Posted February 16, 2006 Author Report Posted February 16, 2006 I'm up to $235 this morning and still rejected. :) Is anyone won at their very first ? I've never won a bid with my very first bid.
levtas Posted February 16, 2006 Author Report Posted February 16, 2006 I finally got Hyatt Regency....Interestingly, 3 hours ago I couldn't get it for $235. Hard to figure Priceline...Ofcourse I access priceline through http://www.savingsbarn. :)
