lfranch1 Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 Longtime lurker, but complete newbie seeking help. I'm working way ahead to explore possible vacation ideas for Nov. 8-12, 2006. One possibility is NYC with a desired stay at the Hyatt on the Hudson. In checking Hotwire, the rate for my stay is listed as $260/night (I have not checked out Priceline, yet). Do you think the high price (only $27/night savings) is due to my searching so far in advance of my trip, or is there some big local event going on at that time?Any assistance you could provide would be appreciated, and please feel free to ask questions if you need more info. Thanks!
thereuare Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 This is likely partly due to the length of time before your stay, but also because the sub-$100 rates are usually only available during times of low occupancy, which is become less and less common for this property. This property caters to the near by "wall street west" district and therefore has fairly consistent occupancy levels, especially for dates that include midweek. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
lfranch1 Posted February 17, 2006 Author Report Posted February 17, 2006 Thanks for the info! So, as I see it my I should wait until the date gets closer and check again periodically and, in the meantime, check other options and explore the possibilty of splitting my bid. Any other thoughts or advice would be appreciated. Thanks, again.
