Hotwire Hotel: APRIL Wend- Close to Central Park

Hi Everyone: I've bought tickets to go to the Opera in April and complete a childhood dream.

I've invited my boyfriend and it will be our first time in NYC together. We're staying a total of 4 nights; but I want this to be really special. :)

We both agree that we'll like to stay close to Central Park and enjoy the park.

We were thinking about The Upper West side.

Any suggestions as to bidding? I'm looking for something clean and cute, but nothing fancy as we will be spending most of the time outside. Did I mentioned CLEAN? :o

What is the lowest you'd recomendd I could go with a bidding entry point? (i.e. $150 too low?) :) What is the best place to start?

What are the actual dates of your stay? What star rating are you seeking?

I'd encourage you to re-think your trying to pinpoint a location. First, April weather can go either way... it can be nice, but equally it can still be cold. I wouldn't plan your location choise based upon 'enjoying the park' when the weather may not be accomodating. Second, NYC is compact enough that you can easily get the park from just about anywhere in midtown that you don't need to restrict your hotel location to be adjacent to the park.

MTE, MTW, and UM/CPS are the recommended locations to bid... easy subway access, close enough to get anywhere you want, and also where the greatest number of hotels are located, making the value in these areas the best.

Let us know your thoughts on the above and we'll advise accordingly.
