TravelGuy Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 This hotel was actually fomerly a Holiday Inn but has been very thoroughly renovated to the point where it looks like a brand new construction. I drive by it all the time and it looks quite nice. It's adjacent to Fair Oaks Mall and about 15 minutes from Dulles Airport. Although a 3*, the newness factor arguably makes it a better alternative than the 4* Hyatt Fair Lakes, which is getting rather tired.
AmericaWestCMH Posted February 14, 2006 Author Report Posted February 14, 2006 Thanks for the info, TravelGuy. Thanks for the welcome, thereuare. The Fairfax Hyatt is now a 3* (so a possibility now besides this Marriott). No more 4* hotels in the Virginia suburbs of DC. For the hotel list, Westfield's Marriott in IAD zone is again a 3*.
thereuare Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 Thanks for the update on the Hyatt. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
AmericaWestCMH Posted February 14, 2006 Author Report Posted February 14, 2006 No problem. The Westfield's Marriott in the Dulles zone is a 3* as well, if you want to update that.
TravelGuy Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 Wow, they must have done that very recently as I've seen a winning bid elsewhere reported on 1/20 with the Hyatt as a 4*. I guess Priceline agrees that it's lost some of its luster. :) If there's no more 4* bidding in the Dulles zone, they've also dowgraded the Hyatt Reston from 4* to 3* - although perhaps that was done even earlier.
AmericaWestCMH Posted February 14, 2006 Author Report Posted February 14, 2006 Was originally planning for that 4* Hyatt Reston, and was pretty bummed to see no 4* catagory.
