Hotwire Hotel: san juan condado can't choose

So first and foremost, first time posting!

My bf and I have never been to Puerto Rico and at first we wanted to save money and rent an apartment but then we thought, this is our only [and first real] vacation we should stay somewhere nice. So with that being said if there is a better place to stay in Puerto Rico we are open to hearing it. We fly into SJU Nov 30 and leave Dec 5. We want to see the rainforest,caves, and MAYBE the bioluminescent bay. We of course want to go to Old San Juan and explore the area around there. We originally wanted to stay in Old San Juan, but we are worried about parking because we want to rent a car. So we think we want to stay in condado, beach front.

First, a comment or two about San Juan...

Almost all hotels will have some negative reviews as this is generally an expensive hotel market (although your dates seem to be priced very well) and although part of the US, the culture there is still very much laid back and that of a caribbean island.  This combination of of high prices and a laidback atmosphere is often interpreted as poor service levels, but generally it just comes down to culture.  When guests are paying high prices and are told 'right away', it usually more so means "we'll get around to it", and this is often interpreted negatively.

 

Also, most of the beachfront in the Condado area is man-made beach.  If you're looking for the 'real' beach i would sooner suggest the Isla Verde section.

 

Not sure how much driving you intend on doing, but note that driving in San Juan is very aggressive (and this is coming from somebody who is comfortable driving in NYC traffic)... so make sure you're comfortable with fast-paced city driving if you intend to rent a car.

==> best guess for this one would be the San Juan Water And Beach Club Hotel
