Well, while the room wasn't brand new, it was clean, nothing to complain about. I was worried that it would be as bad as some of the motels around Reno, but it was definitely in a different class. Compared to my first choice (which would have been tower rooms at the Peppermill, the 3.5* choice in Reno South), the $200 we saved were well saved.

Like some people mentioned on various hotel-review sites, I was surprised to see that the room keys were, well, plain metal keys. Without becoming overly paranoid, it's likely that the hotel doesn't change the locks after each guest, which would mean that some ill-intentioned person could make copies of a room key - something to keep in mind more than usual if you plan to leave valuables in the room. I decided to leave my expensive digital camera at home for this trip.

Apparently there is wireless internet access even in the motorlodge (I know that there is some in at least part of the main tower, but I was surprised to see it in the lodge). I didn't have a laptop with me so I couldn't actually check that it worked. As a gambler, I prefer it when the internet access is wired, as it then goes to my hotel bill and I can have it comped.

I'd do it again.
