thereuare
Most of the listings aren't different, it's that only the EASY VIEW at BiddingHelper.com shows the complete amenity set. To help streamline the process, what is that you're looking for in a hotel for this trip and what is your maximum budget (per nite before taxes/fees) for this nite? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. masteryao
I guess it's $300 out the door since that's how much booking the Palazzo direct is. The $220 options above seem to be ~$300 after all is said and done so I'm not even sure Hotwire hotel masking is getting me anything. I'm looking for a 5* hotel on the strip. Order preference: Palazzo/Mandarin Oriental Cosmopolitan Bellagio/Venetian Am I missing any? Not interested in Trump, Aria, Vdara, or others significantly set back from the strip. I'm assuming Encore, Jet, Skylofts are out of my price range. Link to comment
thereuare
I'm currently seeing: Venetian for $210/nite (saw the Palazzo for this price as well but when clicking thru it was no longer available) Aria for $182/nite Do either of these work for your needs at this price? masteryao
Not interested in Aria. Are you saying I should book direct with Venetian? or what site are you using to get that price? Link to comment
thereuare
The above was an offer thru HOTWIRE or PRICELINE EXPRESS (i forget which), but i'm not currently seeing it and longer (rates in Las Vegas change more often than any other hotel market in the US)... nor any of the other preferred hotels in your list. You may want to consider booking The Palazzo (please use this link and confirm your dates on the landing page) which allows for free cancellation up until a few days before your arrival. This protects you from rates moving even higher, and also gives you the opportunity to continue to monitor PRICELINE EXPRESS / HOTWIRE for a better deal in the weeks ahead. masteryao
Hum... after taxes/fees, the Palazzo ends up being $370.72. Since there's free cancellation until 48 hours prior, I just went ahead and booked Mandarin Oriental for "$249" which is really $314 after taxes/fees. I'll continue checking Hotwire, but it seems like prices are going up, so we'll see if anything better pops up. Link to comment

Note that this includes the hotel resort fee... you would only be paying $335 now, and the other $35 would be payable directly to the hotel upon check-out. (it's broken down on the check-out page so that you don't have any surprises at check-out ) The Mandarin Oriental has a resort fee as well, but it's not shown on the check-out page, so you're basically looking at the same price for each, so i would choose whichever it is that you would like to stay at more. ... and don't give up on PRICELINE EXPRESS / HOTWIRE, as rates in Vegas change more frequently than any other hotel market, it's certain worthwhile to continue to check and monitor rates. masteryao
No, the Mandarin Oriental is $249 prior to taxes/resort fee. $314 is after taxes/resort fee It had better be, or I'll be pissed!! $370 - $314 = $56/night is a big enough difference to me that I'll stick with Mandarin Oriental for now. The whole resort thing really pisses me off. I don't understand how this is not bait & switch/false advertising. Has anyone complained to the BBB about this? Link to comment
thereuare
There is no bait and switch... you're informed about it before making your payment. (which isn't to say that i like resort fees any more than anybody else) You can view view resort fees, or only search for hotels without resort fees, at our sister site ResortFee.com Have a great trip and let us know if any changes to your plans.
