Since this an extended stay you could see if this same property is offered for the first (or last) nite of your stay and then again for the balance. If so, you could purchase the solo nite in order to 'look behind the curtain'. If you're happy with the results purchase the remaining nites, if not, make alternate plans for the balance of your stay.

I am travelling for a week with my husband. We are 40 and we like the atmosphere of the Soho, (we stayed there in dec/january) and we should like to be a bit openminded and choose sth similar but not the same!

When? october 17 to 24.

a 4 star is ok for us and about $ 260/280 will be very good!

Omni Berkshire Place for $258/nite (not in the Soho area but a good midtown location and a good value at this price, imo)

Innside New York Nomad for $262/nite (i would need to research further to have more confidence if this one is of interest)

Hotel Indigo Lower East Side New York for $267/nite

Gansevoort Park Avenue NYC for $278/nite

Kitano for $279/nite (again, not in Soho but a well reviewed property at a good price)

The Roxy for $284/nite

Andaz Wall Street - A Concept By Hyatt for $303/nite (a little more than you'd ideally like to pay but hotel gets excellent reviews)

 

Some 4* if you're trying to watch the budget more closely:

Wyndham Garden Chinatown for $233/nite

Hotel Hugo for $262/nite
