shamrock111777 Posted September 15, 2016 Report Posted September 15, 2016 I'm looking for a bidding strategy for a 1 night stay before a cruise in Ft Lauderdale FL. Not sure what area to concentrate on- looks like downtown would be closest to port but open to other areas as long as it's easy to get to cruise port and has stuff to do the day before- We don't want to be stuck in the middle of nowhere without a car... Ft. Lauderdale 2 rooms-2 adults each 11/5/16-11/6/16 3 star minimum $100-$150 for the night if that's feasible Any help is appreciated- THANK YOU!!
thereuare Posted September 15, 2016 Report Posted September 15, 2016 Welcome to BetterBidding! As you may have already discovered, rates are very high for this nite, and at current rates i don't think that $150 will be enough for a 3* or better hotel. What time does your plane arrive? (given you have no car i assume you're flying into FLL?) Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. shamrock111777 Posted September 16, 2016 Author Report Posted September 16, 2016 Yes we're flying into FLL at 930am on Sat Nov 5th...cruise leaves Sunday afternoon...any ideas on what amounts to try to bid or if there's another area we should try?
thereuare Posted September 16, 2016 Report Posted September 16, 2016 If you want to stay 'Downtown', at current rates i think you're most likely looking at the $200-$225/nite rate for a 3* or better hotel. You could potentially look at the following zones (but i've listed what i believe may be issues with each): Fort Lauderdale Beach - could end up far North in the zone making transportation costs pricey Airport zone(s) - potentially not much to do (although taxi to downtown should be relatively inexpensive, maybe $10-$15) Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
