sumaysap Posted September 13, 2016 Report Posted September 13, 2016 Hello, I'm looking for a hotel in Tysons Corner / Falls Church area for 1 night (9/14 - 9/15). Just wondering what rate should I start my bid at on PRICELINE?
thereuare Posted September 13, 2016 Report Posted September 13, 2016 Are you willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3.5* OR is the goal the least expensive 3.5* or better for this nite? Let us know the information above, and your maximum bid (so we don't go higher than you're willing to pay), and we will suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. sumaysap Posted September 13, 2016 Author Report Posted September 13, 2016 Thank you for the prompt response. I would prefer least expensive (doesn't matter if it's 3.5* or 4*). The maximum I'd be willing to do is 65-75. I always find better deals in Dulles, but this one night I have to be in Tysons for work.
thereuare Posted September 13, 2016 Report Posted September 13, 2016 I'm not sure if $75is going to be realistic for this nite on this date, but to give it a try... At the 3.5* level you have EIGHT re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding. Select 3.5* Tysons Corner Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $63, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $68, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $73, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $75 Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. If not successful, could you potentially stay in the Falls Church zone (where you may still need to lower your star rating and/or increase your budget) Good luck and let us know how it goes. sumaysap Posted September 20, 2016 Author Report Posted September 20, 2016 Hello, Just to follow up, I didn't have a luck bidding with my price range. I was in the area for 6 hours only, so I just booked Extended Stay America Fair Oaks in Fairfax. I paid $65 for that property.
thereuare Posted September 20, 2016 Report Posted September 20, 2016 Was this a PRICELINE (bid), PRICELINE EXPRESS, HOTWIRE, or regular rate purchase? If PRICELINE EXPRESS or HOTWIRE can you confirm the amenities that were associated with the hotel and shown before your purchase? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
sumaysap Posted September 20, 2016 Author Report Posted September 20, 2016 It was booked through PRICELINE EXPRESS. It showed up as a 3* property but it was okay. I'd give it 2*. Unfortunately, I don't have the list of amenities that were listed there.
thereuare Posted September 20, 2016 Report Posted September 20, 2016 Thank you for closing this thread with your decision. This property is currently rated 2* (and was the last time it was reported to the board) so i have used that in the topic title. Please remember to follow-up your threads with your results/decisions as you receive them so that the information can best help others in a timely manner. Hope it worked for your needs for the few hours you needed it. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
