Priceline Hotel: Help 4 Star and up NYC Nov 4-6

Hi! I am new to this site. Looking for a hotel for NYC November 4-6, under $250. Would like to be central as my husband has never been and will be doing tourist activities.. 4 stars or more. Is my best bet to bid or to book through hotwire? Thanks

Which service (and part of the service) depends upon your needs for this trip, how flexible you are within what hotel in the zone you receive, your budget, and if you need certain amenities.  A quick synopsis:

PRICELINE bidding - usually the least expensive but is more 'unknown' in that you have no way to target (or avoid) a specific property

HOTWIRE and PRICELINE EXPRESS - slightly more expensive than bidding, but you are given a little information about the hotel and you can use this to help make a guess as to what it is that you may receive

 

To get you started, some of what i believe i'm seeing:

Yotel - Times Square for $157/nite

W New York for $191/nite

maybe the Wyndham Garden Hotel Manhattan Chelsea West for $193/nite

 

While the Yotel is not the most centrally located hotel, it is only about 1 long avenue (about a 5 minute walk) to the start of 'Restaurant Row' (by the theater disctrict) and a subway station... about 10-15 minutes to Times Square... and about 10 minutes to the heart of Chelsea; not to mention it gets good reviews (4.5/5.0 TA rating) and also happens to be the least expensive of the bunch.

 

If budget is less of an issue then i'm also seeing the newly renovated InterContinental Barclay for $253/nite... but this is nearly $100 more per nite (before taxes/fees) than the Yotel above.

 

Any interest in any of the above at the prices mentioned OR would you prefer to try bidding on PRICELINE for this trip?
