i tried to add a night but the price was increase to $168 ! spoke with customer service and let them know I wasn't pleased but i am pleased with what I have. I used the PRICELINE link.

When PRICELINE offers the option to add a nite, it is an option to try to add a nite, they can come back with any of the following responses:

1) you successfully added a nite

2) the extra nite is available but only at $xx more (and you'll be given the option to accept or reject the higher price)

3) no inventory available at any price to add a nite (could be no inventory or that the hotel does not allow the 'add a nite' feature)

 

Rates can (and often do) vary greatly from one day to the next, and using your trip above as an example, PRICELINE does not know if you will attempt to add one, two, or three nites before your arrival date... or perhaps one, two, or three nites after your current check-out date.  That is potentially 6 different rates, so it's impossible for PRICELINE to guarantee your current rate will be available when trying to extend your stay.
