FortyCent Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 Hi. First time poster here. This website has been a great help to me with using Priceline and learning how to get the most out of it that you can. So thanks to whomever hosts this site.Five days ago, I entered a bid of $35 (a real lowball offer on my part) for 2/13-2/17 in Ontario, CA for a 3* hotel. It refused my bid and then I added the Riverside/Corona area (where there are no 3*'s) and tried $40. It was also rejected.I waited three days and tried again. This time I tried $45. Once I sent my offer it sent back a message telling me that if I up my bid by $13 (for a total of $58) that there will be something available. So, I upped it to $58 and it gave me the Ontario Airport Hilton. Considering that Hilton is asking $138/night, Orbitz was asking $138, and Hotwire was asking $77, I consider this a good price. My entire stay came to $270 (tax included) for four nights. Had I booked this through Hilton it would have been DOUBLE! I hope this helps anyone looking for a 3* hotel in the Ontario area. Thanks again to the hosts of this website as it has already helped me save hundreds of dollars. :)
