Alexa7
Hi! New to this forum so hopefully posting question accordingly: PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals August 13-18, 5 nights (next week! very last minute) 4* star Amenities: Pets Allowed Restaurant Indoor or Outdoor Pool Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Rate at $217, taxes and fees $193 + resort fee $156.25, total @ $1,429.35 HOTWIRE: Free parking, Resort, Pet friendly, Beachfront hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center 4-star New To Hotwire Hotel in Ka'anapali area same costs as above, BUT taxes and fees $272, total @ $1513.25 I believe both hotels are the westin, but wondering what the difference in taxes/fees. Also, is it worth attempting to bid to get a lower rate? I was originally hoping for the hyatt but seems the westin is still good. Thanks!! Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. Once you win a hotel, use the 'ADD REPLY and REPORT WIN' button on the upper right corner of the page to edit the topic title to reflect your win and to provide the details of your purchase. This helps keep the board better organized by reducing the number of unresolved threads that don't have any follow-up or conclusion. The 'taxes and fees' includes a booking fee that is charge by each service, so if each service is offering what you believe to be the same hotel, simply buy whichever is cheaper on an all-in basis. Assuming you're seeing this 4* South Kaanapali - Lahaina hotel (confirm your dates on the landing page) for $216/nite with: Pets Allowed Restaurant Indoor or Outdoor Pool Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities ==> best guess for this one would be the The Westin Maui Resort and Spa, Ka'Anapali I'm not currently seeing any 4* hotel in this zone for $272/nite when searching for your dates... are you still seeing this on your own HOTWIRE search? We can suggest a bidding strategy to follow if you'd like to go that route, but keep in mind that when bidding on PRICELINE you have to be willing to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) that you choose... it may or may not be the same hotel that is currently offered thru HOTWIRE and/or PRICELINE EXPRESS, and there is no way to target, avoid, or guess what you will receive. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know your thoughts (or how it goes if you take the offer above) and we'll take it from there. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
