jleeiscool Posted August 2, 2016 Report Posted August 2, 2016 Hi, im trying to bid on priceline but its not accepting. Also doesnt really matter what zone in manhattan since all of them are pretty safe. What zone should i stay to save most money/time doing touristy things? Looking to bid/spend under $200/night without taxes. Thanks.
AaronJB Posted August 2, 2016 Report Posted August 2, 2016 Welcome to Betterbidding. You mention you've bid - what bids have you made so far and for which star rating and zones? jleeiscool Posted August 3, 2016 Author Report Posted August 3, 2016 I did all the zones except for Washington Heights in Manhattan, So far i did 3 1/2, 4, 4 1/2 stars.. my last bid rejected was at $169
AaronJB Posted August 3, 2016 Report Posted August 3, 2016 It's best to be at least relatively centrally situated in Midtown Manhattan. Unfortunately, you're likely looking at mildly/moderately over $200 for these dates (probably in the $225 neighborhood or slightly more depending on zone) There is a 4* on HOTWIRE in the World Trade Center area for $208 w/Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Smoke Free, Free Internet, Hi-Speed Internet, Business. >> This is likely the Club Quarters Wall Street. Still, considering the time and effort to get to/from Midtown (and cost of transit if you use that to get around), I think it's worth a little more to stay in Midtown. Would $225 +/- slightly be acceptable for a 4*? jleeiscool Posted August 3, 2016 Author Report Posted August 3, 2016 Yes, or I can settle with 31/2* or 3* under 200 if its possible
thereuare Posted August 3, 2016 Report Posted August 3, 2016 Here are some of the options i'm seeing (although nothing below $200/nite... but the following are just a touch over)... confirm all dates on the landing pages: 3* Lower East Side for $209/nite Free Internet No Smoking Rooms/Facilities ==> my guess for this one would be the Sago Hotel, which admittedly i don't know much about, as it is a brand new hotel, but i listed here since it does have a 9+ user review rating from (the few) previous PRICELINE guests 3.5* Lower East Side for $214/nite Business Center Free Internet Free Breakfast Fitness Center ==> Comfort Inn Near Financial District would be my guess for this one Also seeing what i believe to be: Mayfair New York Hotel for $217/nite Any thoughts/interest on any of the above?
