AimeeTravels Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 Hi there...just found the site today and Im very happy to have joined! So I spent the last hour learning the tricks to name my price on Priceline. I saw that a recent price for the weekend I am going( 2/17-2/19) at the Luxor was $145. I followed the directions to re-counter and even read the posts to the guy that ended up getting that rate. No luck on my end! I am not as familiar with the maps and zones but I did check 4* Strip for $120 then countered with 4* Strip and Airport for $145. They gave me an option of $190! Too high...I have a better rate right now through Treasure Island ( $358 for 2 nights/no tax) but thought I could do better. Trying to stay at or near the Luxor since we are going to a wedding there. Anyone get any good rates for that weekend and know the good hotels that Priceline or Hotwire are advertising? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
thereuare Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 Welcome to BetterBidding! How about the Luxor for $177/nite?Same price as you're currently paying... but the hotel you want :)EDIT TO ADD: even better... book the nite of the 2/17 directly with the hotel for $120/nite, then use the link above to book the nite of 2/18 for $189/nite... saves you another $50! AimeeTravels Posted February 8, 2006 Author Report Posted February 8, 2006 Thank you so much for that info. I went to book my room and realized that it was in the Pyramid. I have one problem....those rooms make me sick and claustraphobic. It costs more to stay in the Tower rooms and I dont know if they would let me do it since I would be paying for one night on EasyClickTravel.I havent quite figured out the property descriptions yet. Any other suggestions for hotels near the Luxor?? Is Mandalay Bay one of the "secret" hotels? Sorry to make it difficult and thanks for your understanding...Im a whimp!!
AimeeTravels Posted February 8, 2006 Author Report Posted February 8, 2006 Okay so no Mandalay I see..bummer, its a great hotel.
thereuare Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 Mandalay Bay is expensive for your dates.Don't know if it's still available, but when i was researching the above previously EasyClickTravel had the Excalibur for ~$150/nite. AimeeTravels Posted February 8, 2006 Author Report Posted February 8, 2006 Thanks! I think I am going to wait two days and see if I can get a deal on Priceline perhaps.
