RedbeardPete Posted July 17, 2016 Report Posted July 17, 2016 Hi, a friend put me onto this site, very helpful so far!!! Open to 4.5* and 5* Dates: Monday 9/19 - Saturday 9/24 Looking in Strip South or North but very adamant about not being North of Sands (till they build it). ideally central, walkable. Casino, single king bed, 2 people My best guess on the Express Deals are: 4.5* + South + Casino Pets + $156 was 205 + 8 of 10 = Cromwell 4.5* + North + Casino Internet + $135 was 169 + 8 of 10 = Mirage 5* + North + Casino + $216 was 257 + 8 of 10 = wynn, palazzo, venetian 5* + South + Casino Internet + $215 was 262 + 8 of 10 = bellagio,Aria I am wondering if I should try a bid. I've got time and am curious if I can snag one of these 5* casinos for around $150-160/night. My hesitance is not knowing if I'm lowballing and being unsure where I'll end up.
RedbeardPete Posted July 17, 2016 Author Report Posted July 17, 2016 Just saw a new express deal pop up that I'm guessing is Cosmo: 5* + South + Casino + $186 was $233 + 8 of 10 = Cosmopolitan? Kind of wondering what you guys think regarding bidding. Can I do better by bidding for a lower price than the Express Deals?
AaronJB Posted July 17, 2016 Report Posted July 17, 2016 Welcome to Betterbidding. Both PRICELINE EXPRESS and bidding have their benefits and it becomes more of what you are looking for. Bidding is going to be slightly-to-moderately cheaper than PRICELINE EXPRESS, but you have to have flexibility. If you bid for a 5* in Strip North (for example), you have to be willing to accept ANY of the potential 5* hotels in that zone, including the Trump. So you do have to be willing to potentially accept a hotel that does not have a casino on-site. If having a casino on-site is a must, then I'd recommend PRICELINE EXPRESS or HOTWIRE and looking for a listing that specifically denotes casino as an amenity. Please include all of the amenities that you are seeing with each PRICELINE EXPRESS listing. I'm seeing a 5* in Strip South for $186 w/Indoor or Outdoor Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, Casino, Fitness Center, No Smoking Rooms/Facilities ===>> Not yet ID'd/reported to the board, but a guess would be a new amenity set for the Cosmo since it was last reported. 4.5* South $157 Indoor or Outdoor Pool, Pets Allowed, Restaurant, Business Center, Casino, Fitness Center, No Smoking Rooms/Facilities ====>> A guess here would be the Cromwell. 4.5* North $135 Indoor or Outdoor Pool, Free Internet, Business Center, Casino, Fitness Center, No Smoking Rooms/Facilities ====>> A guess here would be the Mirage. Would any of these potentially be of interest? What would be your desired max budget per night for this stay? RedbeardPete Posted July 17, 2016 Author Report Posted July 17, 2016 Hey Aaron, thanks so much for your input! I don't want to be as flexible as bidding requires, so I think that clears that up. Those 3 you mention are my top 3 picks right now and sounds like I was guessing on target. All of them had pool, business center, fitness center, non-smoking. I was hoping to stay under $1000 for the entire stay but if $1100-1200 is a measurable value, I'll take it.
RedbeardPete Posted July 17, 2016 Author Report Posted July 17, 2016 OK so confirmed $186/night is indeed Cosmo. My total was $1261. Should be nice, I think it's crazy they don't have free Internet but looks like it does have free parking.
thereuare Posted July 17, 2016 Report Posted July 17, 2016 Congratulations on your success and thank you for sharing your win with the board, helping us update the Priceline Express Hotel List with the new amenity set for this property. Quote crazy they don't have free Internet I'm pretty sure that internet is included in the hotel resort fee, so i don't think you'll have any problems with internet access during your stay.
