4-star Resort in South Strip area

4 nights, 9/12-9/16

Hotwire lists at $95 (from $212, 55% off), "Book soon! The last person got the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino"

Hotwire lists amenities as "Business center,Casino,Fitness center,Golf nearby,Internet access,Pool(s),Resort,Restaurant(s),Tennis nearby"

Those are not a match for anything except Monte Carlo I think.  But there is no way Monte Carlo would be $212 on these dates.

Here is the list of amenities using the Hotwire Easy View tool:

FULL AMENITIES: Resort, Casino, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Golf nearby, Tennis nearby, Spa services, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower

Is the chance pretty solid this is Mandalay Bay?

Thank you.

Please start by followig-up your previous Hotwire Las Vegas hotel thread with whatever you ended up doing for that trip, then reply here and we will have a look at your post above.

Please remember to follow-up your threads with your wins/decisions as you make them (even if you don't ultimately use PRICELINE / HOTWIRE, cancel the trip, book direct, etc) as this help keep the board better organized and more useful for everyone... as well as being a courtesy to anyone who took the time to help with your travel plans.

Are you try to target, or avoid, the Mandalay Bay?

Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.

Sorry, I did not book via HOTWIRE on that last trip and did not know to return.

I would be trying to target Mandalay Bay here.  The other 4* Center and South strip hotels on these dates seem to be Tropicana, Planet Hollywood, and maybe one or two others.

Yes, this is what we try to avoid as leaving 'open' threads makes the board appear messy and less useful for everyone as readers of your previous threads don't know if you canceled the trip, won a hotel but didn't report it, stayed with friends, bought something thru conventional means, etc.  Can you please further follow-up your previous thread with what you did book for that trip (and the price if you happen to recall)... not just commenting that you didn't book the hotel you asked about.

As for your trip above...

Note that the crossed out rate is an average price of hotels of this star rating in the zone for your dates, NOT necessarily the rate of the hotel currently being offered, so it's not meaningful in trying to take a guess as to the hotel being offered.

These amenities are somewhat common for a 4* hotel in Las Vegas, but the Mandalay Bay would be my best guess for this one (i doubt it's Monte Carlo since that hotel is offered for $60/nite for your dates and HOTWIRE is pretty good about their offered price ($95 in this instance) not being above the hotel's own rate ($60)... although they do offer a best price guarantee in the rare instances when it might occur)

Ended up waiting a few days and the price dropped to $74/nt.  I also changed the nights by one day, but that didn't effect the pricing.  It is the same for 9/12-9/16 and 9/11-9/15.  Going through Mandalay's site, it was upwards of $1100.  Through HOTWIRE, including resort fees, it will come out to $500.  Pretty ridiculous savings.

FULL AMENITIES: Resort, Casino, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Golf nearby, Tennis nearby, Spa services, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower
