jfanselow
Hi I am currently trying to figure out the best way to get a room for 3 people in Chicago for November. When I search the magnificent mile and select 4 adults instead of 3 in a 4.5 star or above (cheaper than a 4 star and would rather not stay in a 3) the price jumps by $24 per night but hotel also seems to change. If I went with the 3 person option is it likely that the hotel would be 1 bed plus either a sofa bed or cot? We definitely want to try and get 2 beds. With respect to that dates are 2/11-6/11 this November and these are the results I'm looking at, any idea which hotels they are?: 3 People $221 Magnificent Mile - Water Tower 4.5 star FULL AMENITIES: Pet friendly, Boutique hotel, Indoor pool(s), Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Spa services Trip advisor 4/5 Hotwire review 85% Downtown Chicago - River North area 90% recommended $221 per night 3.5-star collection 4/5 Trip advisor FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Indoor pool(s), Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower Navy Pier - Millennium Park area 100% recommended 3.5 Star $224 per night No trip advisor rating Free Internet, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access Any help or advice would be appreciated. AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding. Whether via discount services or regular rate, hotels do often charge extra person fees for each adult beyond the first two and that is what you are seeing here. If you do search for more than two, you should get either 2 beds, 1 + sofabed or 1 + rollaway. The other option would be to look on PRICELINE EXPRESS and see if there is a listing with bed choice where one of the bed choice options is two beds. If you need help trying to ID a listing, please provide the full list of amenities, star rating, price per night (before taxes/fees) and zone and we would be happy to take a look and try to ID. Please keep us updated and let us know if you have any additional questions. I'm also very familiar with Chicago and would be happy to answer any city questions. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. thereuare
jfanselow, I understand your logic but i think you're trying to read into it too much and searching for 4 adults will only slightly increase your chances of landing what you want (there are many other factors involved that will play a much bigger role in whether you get a room with 2 beds or not)... you would be better served by simply choosing a hotel (thru HOTWIRE or PRICELINE EXPRESS) that offers a Bed Choice type that will work for your needs and ensuring you get exactly what it is that you want. I am seeing what looks like the Hotel Chicago Downtown, Autograph Collection for $246/nite for a room with 2 Queen Beds... would this be of any interest? If 2 Double beds would work i'm also seeing the Milenorth Hotel for $219/nite. Either of the above work for your needs? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
