First timer, very tough days to book, exceptionally lousy deal. Oh well.

Can you include your bidding history in this. Based upon your comments i'm assuming this was not your first bid in the zone, and knowing your bidding history we may be able to provide insight as to how to have bid it more systematically.

This is still about half of prevailing rates, so i don't think it's as much of a lousy deal as you think it is.

Well, I started with 4* in Fisherman's Wharf (where I wanted to stay) and in 3 successive sessions added Union Sq east and west down to 3* between $79-109 ...(109 to 3.5 in FW and UnionSQ). None of those were accepted and I bailed at the 3 areas, 3* and 109. My 4th time in, I added Civic center at 89 and then again at 2.5* and that was finally accepted.

I guess it's not that bad...but it would appear that others have gotten much better deals at different times. But yeah, perhaps it's unrealistic to assume I could beat this in SF? Otoh, this was my first time on Priceline, and obviously my first time here...
