tatata Posted July 8, 2016 Report Posted July 8, 2016 Hello, I'm new to Priceline here. Though I've done some research but appreciate if you guys can give me some advice. - Travelling to NYC from 5 - 10 Aug 2016 - Looking at 4-star (or above) hotels in ESB area - Near Dumont NYC is preferred (or Dumont NYC itself but the price is over my budget) - Budget around US$228 (inclusive of taxes) / per night Saw a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal for the travelling date given above on Priceline today with the following info: - ESB area - 4-star - Pets allowed, fitness center, no smoking - US$174 per night (exclusive of taxes and fees) Any idea which hotel is that? Should i just go ahead with this express deal or should i bid? Need the advice from you all gurus. :) Thank you.
thereuare Posted July 8, 2016 Report Posted July 8, 2016 Welcome to BetterBidding! Assuming this is the 4* Empire State Building hotel (confirm your dates on the landing page) you're seeing with the amenities above, my guess for this one would be the St. Giles - The Tuscany If you bid on PRICELINE you may be able to get a slightly lower price, but it may or may not be the same hotel that is currently being offered thru PRICELINE EXPRESS. As well, given this offer is so well reviewed (and relatively close to the Dumont) is it worth saving a few dollars to possibly get something that is not as well reviewed and/or not as close to the location you want to be? Does this work for your needs this trip? tatata Posted July 20, 2016 Author Report Posted July 20, 2016 Thanks so much for your help!! Unfortunately, I've missed the great deal and only got to grab one this Monday which turned out to be The Gregory. Price is higher yet the review score is lower though as compared to St. Giles - The Tuscany. What a pity.
thereuare Posted July 20, 2016 Report Posted July 20, 2016 Sorry to hear you missed the previously deal, but as you see they can come and go quickly, which is why you need to be ready to purchase/commit when the right opportunity presents itself. Can you please add a reply to this thread confirming the room rate per nite and the amenities of the PRICELINE EXPRESS offer that you did purchase.
