Bitstop Posted June 19, 2016 Report Posted June 19, 2016 Hotwire is offering 4-star "Madison Square Garden area new to hotwire hotel" with the following amenities: Complimentary Free Internet Amenities Business center Fitness center Golf nearby Restaurant(s) Smoke-free rooms Accessibility Accessible for visually impaired Accessible for hearing impaired It also says "This hotel typically charges guests a resort fee of about USD32 per room per night" At $117, it seems like a decent deal. Just wanting to know which hotel before I book, and I might wait for that since I have some time.
AaronJB Posted June 19, 2016 Report Posted June 19, 2016 Welcome to Betterbidding. I think there may be more amenities than you have included above. If you repeat your search using our BiddingHelper tool and look in the EASY VIEW TAB, do you see additional amenities beyond those listed above? If so, please confirm the full amenity set and we would be happy to take a look. If you see: Free Internet, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Golf nearby, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower ==> this would likely be the Wyndham New Yorker. Given the fact that it's $117 + $32 per night = $149, you could think of it like you're essentially paying $150 and look to see if there's something that interests you at $150 without an added fee. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
Bitstop Posted June 19, 2016 Author Report Posted June 19, 2016 Yep. That's what I see. I think I'll make a reservation I can cancel, and continue shopping and/or bidding. Thanks for your help.

Bitstop Posted June 20, 2016 Author Report Posted June 20, 2016 I have been using your sister site to check out some back-up reservations. Thanks. I'd like to find something for less than $200/night. Since we're staying 6 nights, a little cheaper rate can make a difference. I'm visiting folks who live in the Chelsea area, but I think my kid would get a kick out of being near Times Square. So I'm looking at those two areas, and Madison Square Garden and Hell's Kitchen, trying to stay near the west side. We'll be doing a lot of tourist stuff since it's her first trip to NYC. I'd love to get in someplace like Yotel, which has a pretty reasonable rate, because the kid likes the modern look. Wish I could ensure a king bed or two twins, but that doesn't appear to be the forte of these book-it-now sites (or of NYC hotels, for that matter).

I actually mis-typed above (have since edited)... use our 'other' sister site RefundableRates.com for your back-up reservation. HOTWIRE has a 4* hotel in the Chelsea zone for $153/nite with: Restaurant, Smoke Free, Free Internet, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, ==> best guess for this property would be the Wyndham Garden Hotel Manhattan Chelsea West, which assuming correct, would put you close enough to the West Side while also putting you very close to multiple subway stations for easy access to the rest of the city, For this offer if you use the 'regular' HOTWIRE tab at BiddingHelper.com allows you to choose a King bedded room for the same price. Does this work for your needs and budget? EDIT TO ADD: 14 hours ago, Bitstop said: I'd love to get in someplace like Yotel The Yotel - Times Square does appear to be available for $160/nite with this 4* Theater District - MTW hotel with: Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Smoke Free, Free Internet, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Blind Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Wheelchair Accessible, Handicapped Parking, Roll-in Shower Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Bitstop Posted June 21, 2016 Author Report Posted June 21, 2016 I'm not seeing that Chelsea zone hotel at that price. But I do see a Madison Square Garden 3.5* at $162 with Free Internet Business center Fitness center Restaurant(s) that allows me to get 2 beds. It also is 95 percent recommended. Since I'm now taking two kids, I'm inclined to jump on that. Any thoughts on what hotel that is?
thereuare Posted June 21, 2016 Report Posted June 21, 2016 I'm not sure of the 3.5* MSG property above... the Holiday Inn New York City - Times Square would be a guess, but i'm really not certain. Bitstop Posted June 21, 2016 Author Report Posted June 21, 2016 Good guess. I went ahead and booked it because of the two beds. Apparently it's recently refurbished. Used the extra $20 off from the BetterBidding HOTWIRE link too. Thanks for that, and for your help. Should I post that booking somewhere?
thereuare Posted June 21, 2016 Report Posted June 21, 2016 Congratulations on your success! Glad to see it was the hotel guessed and you're guaranteed of appropriate accommodations for your family. In the future you can report your win to the board using the 'ADD REPLY and REPORT WIN' button on the top right corner of the board as this will allow you to edit the topic title to reflect your win as well as create a post with the details of your purchase... but you can't see this button any longer since it can only be used once and we just clicked it to report your win (as you can see the topic title has changed and your win also now automatically appears in the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins ) I will also add that you're near a very good bagel shop that you can go to for breakfast (seating is very limited, so if you can't grab one of the small tables or a window seat, i suggesting taking the brown bag to Times Square and sitting on the bleachers behind the TKTS stand... enjoying your bagels and the breakfast view you can't get anywhere else in the world): Best Bagel and Coffee 225 W 35th St, (35th St, north side of the street, between Seventh and Eighth Avenues) Thank you for using the HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your purchase and sharing your results, helping us confirm/add this property to the Hotwire Hotel List.
