Priceline Hotel: 3* San Francisco (Airport SFO) Holiday Inn SFO

For the past two months I have been able to successfully get 4* rooms at SFO or San Mateo for $40/nt (usually at the Hyatt SFO). For some reason (maybe Priceline maintains a history and no loger allows me to get thoses deals), I was unable to get deals on 4* rooms at SFO for anywhere near $40 for the past two weeks. Whats up...? Suggestions?

Bid history:

$40 SFO, San Mateo 4* - rejected

$45 SFO, San Mateo, South San Francisco 4* - rejected

$50 SFO, San Mateo, Cathedral 4* - rejected

$55 SFO, San Mateo, South San Francisco, Cathedral 4* - rejected

$40 San Mateo 3* - rejected

$40 SFO, San Mateo 3* - accepted

For the past 2 months I have been getting rooms at nice 4* hotels at SFO airport regularly for $40. I have been getting these rooms weekly on the same night of the week since I have to be in the Bay Area for work. Based on postings on the SF board, other folks have been getting these same sort of deals on 4* hotels. Recently (past 3 weeks), I have not been successful getting any 4* hotels for $40-55 using my same bidding strategy.

So, my question is: does your bidding history affect the success of future bids on PL? Would someone who was new to PL have better success getting a 4* hotel at a particular rate compared to a veteran PL customer who has show a history of winning bids at a particular location, date, etc.? Or, are the bids accepted independent of your bidding history, success rate, etc.?

Thanks!

Dave
