I wound up bidding on PRICELINE, attempting to name my own price, and I got 7 nights at the Eventi for $200.00 a night, including New Years, so not bad. I saved $3.00 a night by not doing the Express Deal.

 

Bid from $170 in $5.00 increments and was finally accepted at $200.00/nt.

Glad to see you received a nice deal for these dates which include New Year's Eve... a very difficult nite to get a deal in NYC.

 

While it's good you were able to save $3/nite vs. the PRICELINE EXPRESS deal, i would question this tactic in the future... if you had received some other 5* hotel in the zone that was not as highly rated and well reviewed as the Eventi, would it have been worth the $3/nite savings?  I would have started low as you did, but as i got closer to the PRICELINE EXPRESS rate i would have just taken it, as the assurance of such a well reviewed property would have been worth a few dollars extra, imo.
