AztecWolverine Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 :) Murph,I noticed you were disappointed in a Vegas hotel in the past , and were willing to stay in the West and South areas. This indicates to me that you are not hungup on the Strip. Therefore, here is my recommendation:Bid on Priceline 2 1/2 *, Conv Center UNLV area, $58. If rejected, check and make sure that Nellis still only has one and two stars available. Then add Nellis to your areas for a rebid, and up the bid to $65. If rejected, either wait 72 hours, and bid $75 and $85, or start a brand new bid and bid 2 1/2 * West of Strip $50--if rejected add Nellis, and make it $58. People have gotten the Courtyard By Marriott South in this region. If rejected, wait 72 hours. Don't bid Airport, or other areas, but if you are willing to stay Downtown -- people have been getting the 4* Nugget for as low as about 45 or 50. I think their pool is closed, not sure.Good Luck! Here are my two wins:----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------2.5* Residence Inn Convention Center, 10/7-10/9 $85 WKEND! Big CONV in town BID 2
AztecWolverine Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 Your stay won't be until late March. Sometimes hotels do not add their stock to Priceline until 30 days out. I'd try then if you are unsuccessful now. Make a backup reservation somewhere, directly with a hotel that has a 72 hr or less free cancel policy. I'd suggest choosing the Gold Coast, or Orleans, or the Rio. Or the Golden Nugget if you don't mind staying downtown. If you sign up for their email promotions you can get good deals, too. Ask when you call for their Best Rate Guarantee. They will usually match prices you find on travelworm.com, etc.
