cwells0528 Posted May 31, 2016 Report Posted May 31, 2016 I'm looking at a Hotwire deal in NYC for July 6-10th (two rooms for 3 adults, 2 kids). It is for a Times Square South 4 star hotel for $188/night. FULL AMENITIES: Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility. Any idea what hotel...or any good suggestions for a good place to stay? Thanks!
thereuare Posted May 31, 2016 Report Posted May 31, 2016 Welcome to BetterBidding! I'm very familiar with NYC and would be happy to help with your trip. To get started, what are your needs for this trip and what made you ask about the hotel above? For instance, i'm seeing a 4.5* hotel the Rockefeller Center zone for $190, which would seem like a good 'upgrade' in star rating for only $2 more per nite. What is your maximum budget (per nite before taxes/fees) for this trip? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know the information above and we'll take it from there. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
cwells0528 Posted May 31, 2016 Author Report Posted May 31, 2016 Thanks for your help! We need two rooms, as we are travelling as a family with 2 kids (and my mother). Looking for a good, central location that is comfortable and clean. Maximum budget is $225 unless it is an incredible deal! I really appreciate any ideas or suggestions.
cwells0528 Posted May 31, 2016 Author Report Posted May 31, 2016 Also, it looks as though PRICELINE EXPRESS has a lot of great deals for the Rockefeller/Central Park area for under 150....thoughts?
thereuare Posted May 31, 2016 Report Posted May 31, 2016 PRICELINE EXPRESS could be an issue as you need triple occupancy for one of the rooms and PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy... in NYC it's realistic that you could receive a room that only has one bed (and no space for a rollaway to be brought into the room, if the hotel even has them on site); would this be acceptable? If acceptable i would recommend this 4.5* Madison Square Garden hotel for $182/nite with: Pets Allowed Business Center Free Internet Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities ==> best guess for this property would be the Even Hotel New York Times Square South which is a new hotel which has been getting excellent reviews If not acceptable i'm seeing on HOTWIRE what i believe to be The Benjamin (also for $182/nite) when searching for 2rooms/3adults/2children. Either of the above of interest? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know your thoughts (or how it goes if you take the PRICELINE EXPRESS offer linked above) and we'll go from there. cwells0528 Posted May 31, 2016 Author Report Posted May 31, 2016 Thanks for the suggestions. I don't see a deal on hotwire for $182/night. Any other ideas?
AaronJB Posted June 1, 2016 Report Posted June 1, 2016 When I search on BiddingHelper.com for 2 rooms with 1 adult and 2 children in one room and 2 adults/0 children in the other room, I'm seeing a 4.5* in the Rockefeller Center zone w/Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Spa, Pet Friendly.for $182 (you may see a slightly different price +/- a few bucks.) A guess for this would be the Benjamin. I'm also seeing a 4.5* in the Rockefeller zone w/Restaurant, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Wheelchair Accessible, Pet Friendly for $190 (again, you may see a different price +/- a few dollars) -- This is a match for the Omni Berkshire, which has been seen with this amenity set previously. Thank you for keeping us updated and please let us know if you have additional questions. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
cwells0528 Posted June 1, 2016 Author Report Posted June 1, 2016 Thank you! Booked the second option! Omni! THANKS AGAIN!
thereuare Posted June 1, 2016 Report Posted June 1, 2016 Congratulations on your success! Glad to see you received a nice deal at this property and are pleased with the results. You're also near my often recommended Ess-A-Bagel (Third Ave at 51st St) which has one of the best bagels in the city, makes for a nice, and relatively inexpensive, breakfast among local NYers. Thank you for sharing your win with the board. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Enjoy your stay.
