JimmyConnelly Posted May 24, 2016 Report Posted May 24, 2016 This is a great site, first off. Thanks for all you do and I am happy to use your links to book. Using BiddingHelper.com, I found an availability of a 5* hotel at $228.00/night in Central Park South of New York City and wondered if you had any input on what you think this hotel may be. The amenities listed on BiddingHelper.com are: FULL AMENITIES: Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access On the Hotwire site itself, it was listed as 80% recommended with Business Center, Restaurant(s), Internet access, Fitness center. The going rate for that same time frame at 1 Hotel is $321, so didn't know if that hotel would discount that highly. Also, if that is the hotel, does anyone know is the $40 per person/day charge of $40 mandatory (for food/beverage/internet) that I saw on the hotel website. Any input is very much appreciated.
thereuare Posted May 24, 2016 Report Posted May 24, 2016 Welcome to BetterBidding! (and thanks for the compliments on the site ) So we can replicate your search please reply with the dates of your stay and we will have a look at this offer. i'm very familiar with NYC so if you let us know more about your need and budget (per nite before fees/taxes) we can try to see if there is anything else offered that may do a good job of working for your plans. JimmyConnelly Posted May 24, 2016 Author Report Posted May 24, 2016 Sorry, I can't believe that I left out my dates. I am looking at July 21-24. As for budget, if I can keep the per night below $250 for a 5* or $180 or so for something that you feel is a very good hotel in a good location but a 4* (or 4.5 if possible), that would be great. Trying to make this trip a nice and deserved luxury weekend away for my wife. Thanks again for your help and quick reply!
thereuare Posted May 24, 2016 Report Posted May 24, 2016 I see a 5* hotel with the amenities above currently offered at $235/nite but i'm not seeing any 'resort fee' associated with this property... are you still seeing a resort fee associated with the current HOTWIRE offer? For what i'm seeing (5* CPS for $235/nite) with: Fitness Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet ... best guess here would be the Viceroy New York, with such a limited number of amenities, and most 5* hotels in NYC offering these services, can't be too certain in any guess. For $185/nite i'm seeing wha tlooks to be the Omni Berkshire Hotel which is well located and gets good reviews, should this be of any interest. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. Let us know your thoughts on the above and we'll take it from there. JimmyConnelly Posted May 24, 2016 Author Report Posted May 24, 2016 That's great input and information. I think the Omni would be an excellent option. What is the hotel/zone that you are seeing that you think might be the Omni? Is this directly from Hotwire or from BiddingHelper.com, as I feel like the prices are a couple of dollars off? This is a great amount of help. Thanks!
JimmyConnelly Posted May 24, 2016 Author Report Posted May 24, 2016 I think I figured it out myself. The 4.5-star in Rockefeller Center, correct?
thereuare Posted May 24, 2016 Report Posted May 24, 2016 Yes, from the EASY VIEW TAB of BiddingHelper.com it's the 4.5* Rock Center hotel with: Pet Friendly Fitness Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Wheelchair Accessible Bathroom Accessible --> best guess would be the Omni Berkshire Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.
