QueensU
Hi there,I'm looking for a hotel for 1 night (April 22) on the strip in the 4 or 5 star category. Looks like all the websites right now have the rates at approx $299 for this particular date. Can anyone recommend a bidding strategy and how low do you think we can go?ThanksK Link to comment
thereuare
A lot of Las Vegas hotels won't accept a Saturday check-in.What is your maximum bid? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
QueensU
Our maximum bid is $200 USD for one night. I believe we have a back up reservation right now for the Luxor at $289/night which seems very high for that hotel, but we haven't been able to find anything cheaper. Link to comment
thereuare
Besides a Saturday check-in issue, there is a National Association of Broadcasters convetion starting 4/24 (Monday) which is 135K people. I haven't looked but it wouldnt' surprise me if there was also a big boxing match on 4/22 (in order to get the conventioneers to Vegas early and for the entire weekend). You could book the Aladdin as a back-up for $221 as i think this is a beter hotel, better location, and less expensive. Thru the previous link it is cancellable up until 72 hours before your check-in date.If you want to try bidding this (which based upon current rates is likely going to be tough) you have two re-bid zones at the 4* level. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* Strip...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $135, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* Strip and re-bid zone2...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $145.If/when the above fails, i would then try the following after 24 hours:Select 4* Strip...Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $155, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* Strip and re-bid zone2...Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $165.After you bid the above post back and we'll update from there. In the meantime i would book the Aladdin above as it is currently available thru EasyClickTravel and their availability is limited.Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck. QueensU
Vegas turned out to have a tonne of conventions that week, so we ended up booking for $209/night directly through the hotel at Luxor. Link to comment
