Priceline Hotel: Hotel in NY Sept 07-12 (5 Nights)

Hello,

we are a couple from germany and want to stay in NY this year - from 09/07/2016 to 09/12/2016.

I have visited so many booking sites the last weeks - but never found a deal for a good, central and fair priced hotel in NY (is it possible to get a hotel for 90 to 100 Dollar per night??)

I hope to get some help here - does this "name your own price"-thing at priceline works? how much money should i enter in the bidding-field in which area?

Are there other websites where i can get a real good deal?

In which areas you should stay in new york so that you don´t have to drive 45 minutes  - or someting like that -  to manhattan?

We do sometimes see under $100 wins in NYC but these are typically during slow times of year (January and February) and not Septembers which is the beginning of high-season and when rates start to increase from the slow summertime months.

 

At current rates you're most likely looking in the $150-$175 area for a decent 3* or better for this stay.

 

If that is too much over your budget, i am seeing what appears to be The Hotel 91 (a 3* hotel in the Lower East Side zone) for $118/nite.  The reviews are mixed, with most saying 'you get what you pay for' and a 'decent hotel for the price', but not sure if you're looking for something nicer and/or how flexible you are with your budget and star rating.
