mncool
Hi there! Need help with travel dates 7/9-7/15. The Hot Rate is shown as $95/night, when is the best time to start bidding and what price should start with (example below)? 'Well-appointed 4-star new to Hotwire hotel in Costa Mesa - South Coast Plaza area' FULL AMENITIES: Boutique hotel, Airport shuttle, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Spa services, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower. Thanks in advance! Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! Best guess for the property above would be the Avenue of The Arts Costa Mesa, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel. Does this work well for your needs and you want to try to target this hotel by purchasing the HOTWIRE hotel described above... or are you willing to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) that you bid? If the latter and you want to pursue bidding on PRICELINE, please let us know your maximum bid for this trip and the zones, by PRICELINE name, that you're willing to accept. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. mncool
Thank you for an update. This hotel has $22 self-parking. I'd prefer using PL bidding in zones 5 & 11. What is your recommendation as far as starting/max $? I'm ok with 4 and 3.3*. Any help is much appreciated. Link to comment
thereuare
To avoid any confusion (both now, and even more so in the future) please list the PRICELINE zone names that you're willing to accept, and not the numbers, as the numbers will change any time that PRICELINE adds, removes, ore renames a zone. If parking charges are an issue, how do you intend to restrict your PRICELINE bidding to hotels that don't charge for parking (or to those that charge less than the property above)? Are you willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3.5* or is the goal the least expensive 3.5* or better for this trip? mncool
Sorry for the confusion. The zones I'm searching for are in Westminster and Fountain Valley (Huntington Beach North - Fountain Valley - Westminster). There aren't a lot of hotels with 3.5 or 4* in these areas, but more in Costa Mesa - South Plaza area. The Avenue of The Arts Costa Mesa seems like a decent one, but if I can get a hotel that is close to Westminster/Fountain Valley for the same or less amount would be great. Please let me know your thoughts. Right, there isn't an option in PL to restrict the parking fees, only through HW Easy View. Thanks! Link to comment
thereuare
Currently the highest rated hotel that PRICELINE offers in the (Huntington Beach North - Fountain Valley - Westminster) zone is 3 stars... so you can't even bid for 3.5* or 4* hotels in this zone. So is the only acceptable zone Costa Mesa? And if so, are willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3.5* or is the goal the least expensive 3.5* or better for this trip? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. mncool
Thanks, thereuare! Pls ID the 3* hotel listed on PL: Huntington Beach North - Westminster FULL AMENITIES: Free parking, Free Internet, Pet friendly, Boutique hotel, Indoor pool(s), Airport shuttle, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower I'm debating if want to accept the 4* Costa Mesa or bid for the 3.5* for a lower price (less expensive). I travel with 4a/2c (need 2 rooms) and my budget is $120 including taxes. I really appreciate your help! Link to comment
thereuare
The Hotel Huntington Beach, upgraded to the 3* level since the last time it was reported to the board, would be my best guess for this one.
